Baalei Teshuva / Chassidut Chabad / Mea Shearim

Q & A: “Successor of Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson” and “Taliban Women”

B”H
Before I am returning to my articles on the role of Satan in the Book of Job (Sefer Iyov) as well as the Hebrew letters, I am briefly answering two other questions:
1. Is there a successor of Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson ?
The seventh and last Lubavitcher Rebbe passed away in June 1994. Since, Chabad has been without a newly appointed Rebbe. Just like Breslov although there are huge differences between Chabad Lubavitch and Breslov.
Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson was married but the couple didn’t have any children. Furthermore, Rebbe Menachem Mendel didn’t appoint any successor. When the Rebbe passed away, other relatives were still alive but this is a very long story. 🙂 As far as I hear, there are still close relatives of the Rebbe living in Israel but they seem to live as secular Jews.
Why did Chabad refrain from electing a new Rebbe ?
After Rebbe Menachem Mendel no one would have ever accepted a new Rebbe. There are too many fractions and interests involved. Although the last Rebbe didn’t found the group, until 1994 he, in a way, was Chabad Lubavitch.

Question 2:
The Taliban – Women from Mea Shearim
The question sounds like that there are some weird haredi women living in Mea Shearim dressing themselves in Taliban – like clothing. This way of thinking would be very stereotype.
It is right that there are Taliban women but almost all of them are Baalot Teshuva (newly religious) and of Sephardi origin. They somehow belong to the Breslover Baale’i Teshuva movement and have absolutely nothing to do with the original Breslovers (under Rabbi Me’ir Schechter) located in Mea Shearim.
The truth is that Mea Shearim totally rejects these Taliban women and it has happened that the real Mea Shearim residents even started yelling the Taliban women.
