After another rain shower yesterday, I took a picture of a beautiful rainbow over Jerusalem.
What we usually do is saying a special blessing and, at the same time, Talmud Chagigah teaches that we shouldn’t look at a rainbow for a longer period of time. “Looking at a rainbow is like looking at the Shechinah (G – d’s Presence)”. Furthermore, the rainbow is a sign that G – d’s once wanted to destroy the world. Nach einem Regenguß am gestrigen Sonntag gab es über Jerusalem einen Regenbogen zu bestaunen.
