Today is the seventh day in the month of Adar. This particular day in the Jewish calendar is of extreme significance, as it is the day of Moshe Rabbeinu’s Yahrzeit.
This week’s Torah reading is Parashat TETZAVEH (Exodus / Sefer Shemot 27:20 – 30:10). The Vilna Gaon brings up an interesting thought which I have never heard before: Parashat Tetzaveh always falls into the week of Moshe Rabbeinu’s Yahrzeit. Thus, the name MOSHE does not appear once in Tetzaveh. G – d is commanding Moshe to carry out various tasks but He only addresses Moshe with YOU.
