This Wednesday evening is Erev Yom Ha’Shoah. The evening when the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Day Yom Ha’Shoah begins. The Holocaust memorial day lasts until the following evening on Thursday. It is a day of remembrance and mourning. A very sad day in Israel.
On Wednesday at 8 pm, the offcial memorial service is starting at the Jerusalem Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem. There will be a nationwide siren sound on Thursday at 10 am.
Also on Wednesday evening: Shops are due to close by 6 pm. No exceptions and only Arab stores remain open. As it is a day of mourning, there will be no cinemas, cafes, discos or parties on Wednesday night. On Thursday, shops, cafes, etc are open again.
