When you are passing Damascus Gate and going further down along the Old City Wall, you can see the original stones where Jerusalem was built on.

The former Temple wall from the East. The Arabs added further buildings but the excavations in the front are part of the Archaeology Park on the Jewish side. The excavations are ruins of buildings built by the Byzantines. What you cannot see on this picture: The remains of the former gate leading into the Second Temple and the stairs leading up to it.
