Media / Settlements

Why not call it “Jewish Settlement?”

I actually read this on Twitter a couple of days ago:
Have you ever wondered why the international media is always referring to settlements as ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS and not JEWISH SETTLEMENTS?
In my opinion, the word ISRAELI provides people with a certain distance. The majority of international journalist using the expression ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS are actually of Christians. Many of them may go to church and thus know that Jews have the right to possess the Land of Israel. That Jerusalem has always been the capital of a Jewish state. That the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews, as promised by G-d.
If the international media would refer to the settlements as JEWISH SETTLEMENTS, it could contradict their belief. Using the expression ISRAELI makes it easier because people regard it as something political rather than having anything to do with G-d’s chosen people.
