There once was a time when millions of Jews were living in Europe. Many of them perished in the Holocaust and others left for Israel, the US, Canada, South America, Australia, etc.
The Ba’al Shem Tov would say that the reason, why the Jews had to live in Europe, doesn’t exist anymore. In one of his stories he stated that “Even if there is a country where Gentiles don’t do any harm to the Jews, there is not always a reason to settle in such a country. Simply because there are no further sparks to elevate.”
The Ba’al Shem was referring to the mystical teaching stating that a certain amount of sparks (from the Breaking of the Vessels-Shevirat HaKelim) need to be elevated back to it’s source in order to bring Meshiach. The Breaking of the Vessels is a concept explained in Lurianic Kabbalah.
So, apparently there is not such a strong reason anymore to live in Europe and Jews should leave. Israel received 30,000 Olim Chadashim (new immigrants) in 2015. Most Jews making Aliyah came from France.
Europe won’t exist for too long anymore, as more and more Muslims are streaming in. However, not to the Eastern European countries yet.
