Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto: “The Purpose of keeping Mitzvot”

The Torah contains 613 Mitzvot but can an ordinary Jew keep all of them even if he is anxious to do so?
The answer is NO unless we have the Third Temple and the Jew is a male and a Cohen. Jewish women would never be able to keep all the Mitzvot even if the Third Temple was already standing.
Today, still without the Third Temple and Korbanot (sacrifices), we are able to keep about 70 Torah Mitzvot only.
But what is the purpose of all these Mitzvot?
Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (the RAMCHAL) makes an interesting statement in his famous book “Derech HaShem-The Way of G-d”:
“The purpose of each commandment is either to allow man to earn a higher level or to remove an area of deficiency and darkness. We can accomplish through doing and avoid what the commandment forbids.”
