Purim in Toldot Avraham Yitzchak in Mea Shearim
Yeah, it is Rosh Chodesh ADAR today! The beginning of the month ADAR which is supposed to be a happy and joyful month. Simcha, joy, is the symbol of Adar. Joy to serve G – d and that G – d caused so many miracles to happen for the Jewish people (Purim and Pessach) (see the book “Sha’arei HaMoadim” from Chabad).
The great thing is that temperatures are on the rise until the middle of this week. 20 degrees Celsius and sunshine until Wednesday. Then winter will be back.
According to Sefer Yetzirah (The Book of Creation), each Jewish month represents a certain letter, horoscope, organ, sense and tribe:
– The letter of Adar is the KUF ק
– The horoscope is the fish
– The tribe is Naftali
– The sense is laughter
– The organ is the spleen
The ADAR schedule:
Ta’anit Esther – Fast of Esther is taking place on 11 Adar (9 March). Two days earlier than usual due to the Shabbat right before Purim.
Purim is taking place on 14 Adar (12 March) and Shushan Purim will be on Monday, 15 Adar (13 March).
Chodesh Tov – חודש טוב – Have a great new month Adar !
