Yom Yerushalayim

Jerusalem celebrating 50th anniversary of Old City liberation

B”H
Exactly 50 years ago, the Israeli army liberated Jerusalem’s Old City and various other parts in town from the Jordanian occupation. From 1948 until June 1967, the Arabs reigned over the entire Old City and Jerusalem was divided. Only sometimes, a limited amount of Jews was allowed to enter the Old City and pray at the Kotel (Western Wall).
This all changed with the Six – Day – War in 1967. This week, Jerusalem is celebrating it’s 50th liberation anniversary. Unfortunately not too much is going on, as half of our town will be closed off due to Donald Trump’s visit.

However, there is a FREE event in front of the Old City walls tonight. Location: Jaffa Gate. Time: 8:00 pm. It will be totally packed!!!
