Daniel Ambash sentenced to 26 years in jail

B”H
Anyone still remembers Daniel Ambash ? The Breslover Na Nach Nachman Chassid who founded his own little community and married six women ?
I must have been at least two years ago when Ambash, together with some other Chassidim as well as his son Nathan, got arrested. Israeli authorities offered psychological help to the six wives but took away the children. The children were put into institutions where they learn how lead a normal life and finally go to school.
For years, Daniel Ambash picked up young homeless women. He brought them into his house, forced them to marry him and then sexually, physically and psychologically abused them. Only one woman spoke against him at a Jerusalem court while the other five still claim that he is innocent. Ambash’s 16 – year – old son also spoke against him stating that “terrible things happened in the Ambash home”.
Last week, Daniel Ambash was sentenced to 26 in jail.

  1. There is a Hebrew article, a 2013 report of an interview with a 20-year old son of the nach-nach Daniel Ambash, which is also strong description of the father as abusive polygamous cult leader.

The religious community and the social services revakha don’t come out of this well to say the least. They knew earlier — but did not intervene, complain and follow through to stop the crimes earlier and rescue who could be rescued…

That said any appeal of a convict should get a careful and fair hearing based on court testimony.

It could be that the article is talking about Nathan Ambash. One of the older sons of Daniel Ambash.

I think that the problem was the same as in the Goal Ratzon case. The cult leader of Tel Aviv who also got arrested.

The authorities needed reliable witnesses and no one from the Ambash family wanted to stand witness. The arrests only took place when a woman who was supposed to be the seventh or eighth with of Daniel Ambash escaped and went to the police.

I heard that Daniel Ambash’s first wife moved back to France. The others are still in Israel. One was American and all the other wives were Israelis.
The wives put pressure upon themselves and none of them wants to talk. I think that the first wife also threatened them.
